Members and friends of the Paupack Sailing Club,

As we find ourselves in the midst of another chilly winter, I can’t help but look forward to the warmth of summer and the return of sailing on beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack. Last year’s sailing season was certainly a challenge, with only four scored races due to the persistent lack of wind. However, I’m pleased to announce that this year, we have placed an order for wind and have adjusted the schedule to allow for more opportunities to get out on the water and sail! Over the winter the PSC officers and directors have been meeting regularly to plan and discuss the 2025 schedule, club activities, training opportunities, and budget.

On behalf of the PSC officers and board of directors, I am delighted to extend an invitation to all our members to join us for the annual Winter Dinner Meeting. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, share stories, and gear up for another exciting sailing season.

Complete your application and send your dues to 103 Rabbit Run, Saylorsburg, PA 18353. If you are a boat owner planning to race this season please let our Vice Commodore Keith Bertenshaw know as soon as possible so that he can finalize the schedule and assignments.

I’m incredibly proud of our club’s history of coming together to raise money for charitable causes. Every year, we make a real difference, and I’d love for us to start thinking about this year’s beneficiaries. Let’s get ahead on planning so we can advertise for Wally Lake Fest and our annual Rotary Race. If you have any ideas for organizations we should support, let’s talk about it at the Winter Dinner Meeting!

We’re also an all-volunteer organization, and without the combined commitment of our members, we wouldn’t be able to make everything happen. This year, we’re looking to fill a committee chair position and galley duty slots. If you’re interested in helping out, let us know—it’s a great way to get involved and keep the club running smoothly.

We are enthusiastic about the upcoming sailing season and look forward to reconnecting with everyone. Your continued support is vital to the success of the Paupack Sailing Club, and we are grateful for your commitment to our shared passion.

Fair winds, Darryl Bell Commodore Paupack Sailing Club
